Our vision, mission, and goal as a church is found in Colossians 1:28-29; "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this we toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within us."
In this verse we find a vision for our existence, "to glorify God". We glorify Him by proclaiming Him through warning and teaching everyone (Psalm 67, 96; Romans 10).
In this verse we find our goal in ministry, by making mature. Christ has called us to make disciples not decisions (Matthew 28:18-20). Disciples are those who are maturing in Christ. Christ church has been commissioned to equip its members, disciples, for works of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).
This verse not only provides us with our vision and our goal but our mission; everyone who believes. We cannot control who believes but we can control to what extent people have opportunity to believe. Paul reminds in 1 Corinthians 3:5-7 that some plant, some water, but it is God who gives the increase.
