THE FEAR OF THE LORD: DON'T TAKE MY WORD, TAKE HIS
Those who fear God
Men who fear God (Exod. 18:21); may those who fear you see me and rejoice (Ps. 119:74); may those who fear you turn to me (Ps. 119:79); come and hear, all you who fear God (Ps. 66:16); you who fear the Lord, bless the Lord (Ps. 135:20); you who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord (Ps. 115:11); you who fear the Lord, praise him (Ps. 22:23); you who fear him, small and great (Rev. 19:5); for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness will rise (Mal. 4:2); who among you fears the Lord? (Isa. 50:10); I am a companion of all who fear you (Ps. 119:63); servants of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord (Exod. 9:20); everyone who trembled at the word of the God of Israel (Ezra 9:4); the time for rewarding those who fear your name (Rev. 11:18); men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen (Acts 13:16); sons of Abraham’s family and those who fear God (Acts 13:26).
Individuals fearing God
Now I know that you fear God (Gen. 22:12); I fear God (Gen. 42:18); the people feared before the Lord (Hag. 1:12); the midwives feared God (Exod. 1:17; Exod. 1:21); Obadiah feared the Lord (1 Kgs. 18:3); I have feared the Lord from my youth (1 Kgs. 18:12); the people feared the Lord and Samuel (1 Sam. 12:18); my heart stands in awe at your word (Ps. 119:161); I fear the Lord God of heaven (Jonah 1:9); Lord, I have heard the report of you and I fear (Hab. 3:2); Levi feared me and stood in awe of my name (Mal. 2:5); those who feared the Lord talked with one another (Mal. 3:16); fear came upon everyone (Acts 2:43); the church went on in the fear of the Lord (Acts 9:31); those who feared God: the Samaritans (2 Kgs. 17:32); Nehemiah (Neh. 5:15); Hanani (Neh. 7:2); Job (Job 1:1; Job 1:8; Job 2:3); Cornelius (Acts 10:2).
Results of the fear of God
A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised (Prov. 31:30); that they may fear me always for their good (Jer. 32:39); knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men (2 Cor. 5:11); fear fell on all and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified (Acts 19:17); the Lord takes pleasure in all who fear him (Ps. 147:11); the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him (Ps. 33:18); the angel of the Lord camps round those who fear him (Ps. 34:7); the secret of the Lord is with those who fear him (Ps. 25:14); you have given a banner to those who fear you (Ps. 60:4); you have given me the inheritance of those who fear your name (Ps. 61:5); the Lord gives food to those who fear him (Ps. 111:5); the Lord has compassion on those who fear him (Ps. 103:13); his lovingkindness is from everlasting to everlasting to those who fear him (Ps. 103:17); so great is his lovingkindness to those who fear him (Ps. 103:11); let those who fear the Lord say his lovingkindness is everlasting (Ps. 118:4); his salvation is near to those who fear him (Ps. 85:9); he will bless those who fear him (Ps. 115:13); the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you (Ps. 31:19); happy is the man who fears always (Prov. 28:14); he fulfils the desire of all who fear him (Ps. 145:19); by the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil (Prov. 16:6); he who fears God escapes both errors (Eccles. 7:18); he who fears the commandment will be rewarded (Prov. 13:13); the reward for humility and fear of the Lord are riches, honour and life (Prov. 22:4); God will instruct the one who fears him (Ps. 25:12); there is forgiveness that you may be feared (Ps. 130:4); it will be well for those who fear God (Eccles. 8:12); his mercy is on those who fear him (Luke 1:50); he will delight in the fear of the Lord (Isa. 11:3); does Job fear God for nothing? No fear of God
There is no fear of God here (Gen. 20:11); Amalek did not fear God (Deut. 25:18); at first the Samaritans did not fear the Lord (2 Kgs. 17:25); they do not say, ‘Let us fear the Lord’ (Jer. 5:24); the fear of me is not in you (Jer. 2:19); there is no fear of God before their eyes (Ps. 36:1; Rom. 3:18); they do not fear God (Ps. 55:19); you did not fear me (Isa. 57:11); they have not feared even to this day (Jer. 44:10); the wicked will not lengthen his days because he does not fear God (Eccles. 8:13); you still do not fear the Lord (Exod. 9:30); they did not choose the fear of the Lord (Prov. 1:29); you do away with the fear of God (Job 15:4); do you not fear God? (Luke 23:40); her false sister Judah did not fear (Jer. 3:8); there was a judge who did not fear God (Luke 18:2; Luke 18:4); we do not fear the Lord, and what could a king do for us? (Hos. 10:3); I will be a witness against those who do not fear me (Mal. 3:5); he who is not kind to his friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty (Job 6:14); is it for your fear of him that he reproves you?
