October 20: Fellowship That Completes Our Joy

Read: 1 John 1:3–4

John proclaims Christ so that his readers may share fellowship with the apostles and, through them, fellowship with the Father and His Son. The gospel does not merely forgive isolated individuals; it brings us into a new family.

Our culture often tells us that happiness comes through independence. Yet we were created for communion: with God and with one another. Sin isolates us through pride, shame, resentment, and fear. Christ restores the relationships sin has broken.

At the cross, Jesus experienced abandonment so that we could be welcomed into fellowship with the Father. He did not save us merely to believe privately but to walk together as His people. Christian joy grows as we share, worship, confess, and enjoy Christ in community.

ONE TRUTH TO BEHOLD
Through Jesus, we are brought into fellowship with the Father and into a spiritual family that shares His life.

ONE TRUTH TO BECOME
Become someone who pursues honest, gracious, Christ-centered fellowship with other believers.

ONE QUESTION TO MEDITATE ON
Am I receiving Christian community as a gift, or allowing pride, hurt, or busyness to isolate me?

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, thank You for welcoming me through Christ. Heal my isolation and teach me to love, serve, forgive, and worship alongside Your people. Amen.
